UND news now is available through RSS feeds, which use a technology called XML to deliver headlines and summaries to your desktop or Web browser.

To use RSS, copy the feeds address http://www2.und.edu/our/rss/rss.xml and paste it into a RSS news reader software, such as RssReader from www.rssreader.com.

Step 1: Install RssReader (free software)

• Go to http://www.rssreader.com/download.htm
• Click the “Download” button next to “rssreader.exe” to save it on your computer
• Find the downloaded “rssreader.exe” on your computer, click and install it.

Step 2: Run RssReader

• Go to Start >> Programs >> RssReader, click on it to start. (You can put it on the desktop by right click and choose Send To >> Desktop)
• Click on “Add” on the panel to add a new rss feed

Step 3: Add UND News Feed

• Add the following address: http://www2.und.edu/our/rss/rss.xml

UND Podcasts deliver news video broadcasts to your desktop. It automatically downloads each video file as it becomes available. You can play these files on your computer or load them on your MP3 player and take them with you.

All you need to get started is podcasting software, such as iTunes (Windows/OS X). Once you download and install the software, simply add (i.e. subscribe) UND podcast feed

Step 1: Install iTunes (free software)

• Go to http://www.apple.com/itunes/
• Download iTunes and save it on your computer. (You need to choose from Windows or Mac OS X version)
• Installing iTunes is easy. Just launch the downloaded iTunes Setup file (size about 37 MB) and follow the on-screen instructions. It will install iTunes and Quick Time player.

• Go to Start >> Programs >> iTunes, click on it to start.
• Click on “Advanced” on the top menu bar.
• Go down to “Subscribe to Podcast”, click on it to open an input box.
• In the box, enter the URL of UND podcast
• http://www2.und.edu/our/rss/video.xml
• Click OK. You are done.

• Click on “Podcasts” on the left panel, you should see UND podcast in the display area, titled “www.und.edu: News Video (mp4) ”.
• Unfold UND the podcast by clicking on the small triangle icon.You should see a couple of video files available.
• Click on one to download and play.
